WINSENT Project clears planning hurdle

  • News

The WindForS WINSENT project to build a wind energy research facility on the Swabian Alb has cleared a major hurdle: at the beginning of June 2020, the Göppingen District Office granted approval to the project in accordance with the Federal Immission Control Act (the German “Bundesimmissionsschutzgesetz”).

The complex approval procedure included a review of all relevant environmental issues and involved the relevant authorities, the regional councils of Stuttgart and Freiburg, the affected municipalities, and nature conservation associations.

For more information and a press release (in German) see the announcement from the Centre for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research Baden-Württemberg (ZSW), who are leading the project. An english-language announcement will follow at a later date.

Please direct all media enquiries to ZSW.
