WindForS 2020 Spring Meeting
25 February 2020 - 27 February 2020
Please also note that we are planning another workshop on wind energy in complex terrain for later in 2020.
Why Take Part?
Find out what WindForS members are up to, find solutions to the challenges you face, and share ideas for new research.
Outline
The meeting will take place over three days:
Tuesday 25.2 will be the WindForS PhD Seminar, including posters and presentations from early-career and up-and-coming WindForS members. There’ll be an icebreaker in the early evening. Come along and meet your colleagues!
Wednesday 26.2 will be about our projects and research themes, including an update about the WINSENT facility. In the afternoon there are tours around some U. Stuttgart institutes and facilities. We’ll meet later for an evening meal.
On Thursday 27.2 we’ll switch to project ideas and planning. We’ll be finished by 13:00 so you can get home.
The agenda will be updated gradually during January and February 2020.

Bring YOUR POSTERS AND Presentations
Contributions are welcome from all WindForS members on any relevant topic. It doesn’t have to be wind energy related. Feel free to bring along an old poster, too; there’s no need for something new!
Please contact Andy Clifton (clifton@windfors.de) if you’d like to discuss an idea for a presentation or poster.
Bring Your Ideas
This meeting is an “unconference”, driven by you. This means that you get to decide what you want to talk about and what you want to achieve. To help make this happen we’ll have a bit of structure, but the choice of topics for discussions is with you.
So, whatever you want to discuss can be discussed. Let’s say you have a challenge in your project or Ph.D. that you’d like to talk about: raise your hand and find people with similar problems or ideas, and use the time to work on what’s important to you. There will be lots of opportunities to propose ideas.
AccoMmodation
Unfortunately the Campus.guest hotel at the University of Stuttgart will close at the end of January 2020. Instead, you could try to get accommodation at one of the following local hotels:
There are also numerous hotels in Stuttgart town center, which is approximately 25 minutes from the venue by S-Bahn and a short walk.
Please also note that we are planning another workshop on wind energy in complex terrain for later in 2020.
